God, Great Spirit, we become aware of your presence with every breath. You are around us and within us, coming from east and south, from west and north, from without and within, and in the certainty of your constancy, we offer this prayer:
하나님, 위대한 성령님이시여, 우리는 숨을 쉴 때마다 주님의 임재를 알게 됩니다. 주님은 우리 곁에, 우리 안에 계시며, 동쪽과 남쪽에서, 서쪽과 북쪽에서, 외부와 내부에서, 그리고 주님의 불변하심을 확신하면서 이 기도를 드립니다.
God, Great Spirit, with the rising of the sun in the east, you bless us with each new day, shining your light, illuminating all that is. May we work for the day when the light of your love shines in every heart, and the children of God in every land may live together in the harmony and peace that you intended from the very beginnings of time, at the very first dawning of light.
하나님, 위대한 성령님이시여, 동쪽에서 해가 떠오르게 하셔서 주님께서 날마다 우리에게 주님의 빛을 비추시고, 모든 것을 비추시고 축복해 주십니다. 주님의 사랑의 빛이 모든 이의 마음에 비추는 날을 위해 우리가 일하게 하시고 모든 땅에 있는 하나님의 자녀들이 태초부터 주님께서 계획하신 조화와 평화 속에서 함께 살게 하여 주옵소서.
God, Great Spirit, like the warming breeze that blows from the south, your Spirit blows upon us and brings us the hope of growth and the promise of life. Open our hearts to the prevailing winds of change that encourage us always to build a better world for us and for our children. Bring us wisdom, bring us vision, and help the seeds of goodness that others have planted in us grow into great oaks of righteousness and mercy.
하나님, 위대하신 성령님이시여, 남쪽에서 불어오는 따뜻한 바람처럼 주님의 성령께서 우리에게 불어와 성장의 소망과 생명의 약속을 우리에게 가져오게 하옵소서. 항상 우리와 우리 자녀들을 위해 더 나은 세상을 만들도록 격려하는 놀라운 변화와 소망의 마음을 열어주옵소서. 우리에게 지혜를 주시고, 비전을 허락하시고, 다른 사람들이 우리 안에 심은 선의 씨앗이 의와 자비의 큰 오크나무로 자라도록 도와주옵소서.
God, Great Spirit, who watches over us in the darkness, after the sun has set in the west, we give to you those places of darkness in our lives where we know fear, where we know temptation, where we know sadness, and where we know grief. Forgive us for the times we turn from your light and choose the darkness. And when we are lost, may your presence be a beacon that calls us home once more. Let us not despair in the midnights of our days, but wait for the coming of a new dawn.
어둠 속에서 우리를 지켜보시는 하나님, 위대한 성령님이시여, 해가 서쪽에 진 후, 우리가 두려움을 알고, 유혹을 알고, 슬픔을 알 수 있는 삶의 어둠의 장소를 우리에게 주십니다. 우리는 슬픔을 압니다. 우리가 주님의 빛에서 돌이켜 어둠을 택할 때에 우리의 잘못을 용서하여 주옵소서. 그리고 우리가 길을 잃었을 때, 주님의 존재가 우리를 다시 한번 주님의 집으로 부르는 등불이 되어 주시길 바랍니다. 우리 시대의 깊은 밤에 절망하지 말고 새로운 새벽이 오기를 기다리게 하옵소서.
God, Great Spirit, who blows with the freezing wind from the north, bringing winter to our lives and our world, help us in the fallow and cold times to reflect upon the still small voice within that calls us to see truth about ourselves that we would rather not see. Sweep clean our lives during our winter sojourns, but sustain us throughout with the bounty of your providence stored up from the past harvests, and prepare us for a new time of planting and growing and reaping.
북쪽에서 얼어붙는 바람을 불게 하시며 우리 삶과 세상에 겨울을 가져오게 하시는 하나님, 위대하신 성령님이시여, 우리가 우리 자신에 대한 진실을 볼 수 있도록 촉구하는 내면의 고요한 목소리를 들을 수 있도록 겨울 휴식과 추운 시기에 우리를 도와주옵소서, 겨울에 머무는 동안 우리의 삶이 깨끗이 청소하되, 과거의 수확에서 깨닫은 주님의 섭리의 풍성함으로 우리를 지속시켜 주시고, 심고 성장하고 거두는 새로운 시간을 준비하게 하옵소서.
God, Great Spirit, enveloping us as the sky envelopes the world, may we see the broadness of every horizon, and rejoice in the twinkle of every star, and give thanks for the rain and the sunshine that stream down from heaven to water and warm our world. Help us to be good and humble stewards of all the blessings of life.
하늘이 온 세계를 감싸듯이 우리를 감싸시는 하나님, 위대한 성령님이시여, 모든 지평선의 넓음을 보고, 모든 별의 반짝임을 기뻐하며, 하늘에서 물과 포근함으로 우리의 세상에 흐르는 비와 햇살을 주심을 감사드립니다. 우리의 삶이 선하고 겸손한 청지기가 되도록 도와주옵소서.
God, Great Spirit, who dwells within our hearts, fill us with the fire of faith, and allows us to be your hands, your feet, your mouth, and your heart, as we live out our days in the company of all the children of God, in all of their variety. Give us confidence as we add our melody to the great symphony of God that finds voice in every expression of life and love. And may the lives we lead, the dreams we dream, and the love we share, always be pleasing to you, O God, O Great Spirit. Amen.
우리 마음에 거하시는 하나님, 위대하신 성령님이시여, 우리에게 믿음의 불로 붙여주시고, 우리가 모든 아이들과 함께 우리의 날을 살아가면서 주님의 손과 발과 입과 마음이 되게 해주시고 그들의 모든 다양성에서 하나님의 삶과 사랑의 모든 표현에서 목소리를 찾는 하나님의 위대한 교향곡에 우리의 멜로디를 더할 때 자신감을 주옵소서. 그리고 우리가 이끄는 삶, 우리가 꿈꾸는 꿈, 우리가 나누는 사랑이 오 하나님, 위대한 성령님이시여, 항상 주님을 기쁘시게 해드리게 하소서. 아멘.
