“하늘에는 영광, 땅에는 평화” 코로나 팬더믹 시대에도 성탄절은 어김없이 찾아온다. 성탄절은 크리스마스 곧 그리스도의 축제 날이기보다, 아이들에게는 산타클로스로부터 선물을 받는 날이요, 어른들에게는 바겐세일과 연말 축제의 날이다. 흔히 말하듯이 그리스도의 탄생의 날이 그저 무슨 날인지 모르는 X마스가 되었다. 그러나 2020년의 성탄은 진정한 나의 신앙고백과 삶의 변화가 일어나는 절기가 되길 바란다.

오늘 미국 기독교 언론의 기사에 따르면, 2020년도 역사적으로 성경을 가장 많이 애독하고 말씀을 사모하는 해였다고 했다. 코로나 고난 속에서 하나님의 뜻과 위로를 찾는 인간 본연의 모습을 보여 준다고 본다.

또한 프랭크린 그레이엄 목사에 따르면 올해 170 만명이 주님을 영접하는 놀라운 복음 전도의 해임을 밝혔다. 이번 성탄절에 신불신자가에 성탄에 관한 말씀을 깊이 묵상하여 말씀으로 오신 그리스도를 심령 속에 모시는 뜻깊은 계절이 되길 소망한다.

● 사 7:14, 그러므로 주께서 친히 징조를 너희에게 주실 것이라 보라 처녀가 잉태하여 아들을 낳을 것이요 그의 이름을 임마누엘이라 하리라 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel

● 사 9:6, 이는 한 아기가 우리에게 났고 한 아들을 우리에게 주신 바 되었는데 그의 어깨에는 정사를 메었고 그의 이름은 기묘자라, 모사라, 전능하신 하나님이라, 영존하시는 아버지라, 평강의 왕이라 할 것임이라 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

● 요 1:14, 말씀이 육신이 되어 우리 가운데 거하시매 우리가 그의 영광을 보니 아버지의 독생자의 영광이요 은혜와 진리가 충만하더라 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

● 마 1:18-21 예수 그리스도의 나심은 이러하니라 그의 어머니 마리아가 요셉과 약혼하고 동거하기 전에 성령으로 잉태된 것이 나타났더니 그의 남편 요셉은 의로운 사람이라 그를 드러내지 아니하고 가만히 끊고자 하여 이 일을 생각할 때에 주의 사자가 현몽하여 이르되 다윗의 자손 요셉아 네 아내 마리아 데려오기를 무서워하지 말라 그에게 잉태된 자는 성령으로 된 것이라 아들을 낳으리니 이름을 예수라 하라 이는 그가 자기 백성을 그들의 죄에서 구원할 자이심이라 하니라 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about[a]: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

● 눅 1:35, 천사가 대답하여 이르되 성령이 네게 임하시고 지극히 높으신 이의 능력이 너를 덮으시리니 이러므로 나실 바 거룩한 이는 하나님의 아들이라 일컬어지리라 The angel answered, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.

● 눅 2:10, 천사가 이르되 무서워하지 말라 보라 내가 온 백성에게 미칠 큰 기쁨의 좋은 소식을 너희에게 전하노라 But the angel said to them, Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.

● 마 2:1-2, 헤롯 왕 때에 예수께서 유대 베들레헴에서 나시매 동방으로부터 박사들이 예루살렘에 이르러 말하되 유대인의 왕으로 나신 이가 어디 계시냐 우리가 동방에서 그의 별을 보고 그에게 경배하러 왔노라 하니 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him”

● 갈 4:4-5, 때가 차매 하나님이 그 아들을 보내사 여자에게서 나게 하시고 율법 아래에 나게 하신 것은 율법 아래에 있는 자들을 속량하시고 우리로 아들의 명분을 얻게 하려 하심이라 But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons.

● 딤전 1: 15-17, 미쁘다 모든 사람이 받을 만한 이 말이여 그리스도 예수께서 죄인을 구원하시려고 세상에 임하셨다 하였도다 죄인 중에 내가 괴수니 그러나 내가 긍휼을 입은 까닭은 예수 그리스도께서 내게 먼저 일체 오래 참으심을 보이사 후에 주를 믿어 영생 얻는 자들에게 본이 되게 하려 하심이라 영원하신 왕 곧 썩지 아니하고 보이지 아니하고 홀로 하나이신 하나님께 존귀와 영광이 영원무궁하도록 있을지어다 아멘 Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners--of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life. ● 딛 3:3-7, 우리도 전에는 어리석은 자요 순종하지 아니한 자요 속은 자요 여러 가지 정욕과 행락에 종 노릇 한 자요 악독과 투기를 일삼은 자요 가증스러운 자요 피차 미워한 자였으나 우리 구주 하나님의 자비와 사람 사랑하심이 나타날 때에 우리를 구원하시되 우리가 행한 바 의로운 행위로 말미암지 아니하고 오직 그의 긍휼하심을 따라 중생의 씻음과 성령의 새롭게 하심으로 하셨나니 우리 구주 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 우리에게 그 성령을 풍성히 부어 주사 우리로 그의 은혜를 힘입어 의롭다 하심을 얻어 영생의 소망을 따라 상속자가 되게 하려 하심이라 At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. ● 슥 9:9, 시온의 딸아 크게 기뻐할지어다 예루살렘의 딸아 즐거이 부를지어다 보라 네 왕이 네게 임하시나니 그는 공의로우시며 구원을 베푸시며 겸손하여서 나귀를 타시나니 나귀의 작은 것 곧 나귀 새끼니라 Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! ● 눅 2:17-20, 보고 천사가 자기들에게 이 아기에 대하여 말한 것을 전하니 듣는 자가 다 목자들이 그들에게 말한 것들을 놀랍게 여기되 마리아는 이 모든 말을 마음에 새기어 생각하니라 목자들은 자기들에게 이르던 바와 같이 듣고 본 그 모든 것으로 인하여 하나님께 영광을 돌리고 찬송하며 돌아가니라 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

● 계 12:5, 여자가 아들을 낳으니 이는 장차 철장으로 만국을 다스릴 남자라 그 아이를 하나님 앞과 그 보좌 앞으로 올려가더라 And she gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron; and her child was caught up to God and to His throne.

성탄의 절기에 수많은 메시지가 선포된다. 그 메시지의 중심 성구는 모두 위에 속해 있다. 위의 말씀으로 읽고, 묵상하고, 암송하고, 기도하고, 찬양하고, 영적 일기를 쓰고 성시를 써본다면, 말씀을 기록하신 성령께서 같은 영감으로 임하셔서 우리의 영혼을 윤택하게 하며, 나의 구원의 확신과 감격을 누리게 될 줄 확신한다.
